The first half of this year, we will focus on "all that Jesus began to do and to teach" (Acts 1:1) as we read through the Gospels together. The second half of the year we will focus on all that Jesus continued to do and teach through His Body, the Church, as we study through the book of Acts and read the remainder of the New Testament, approximately one chapter per day, 6 days a week.
Come on this journey with us! Since there are four gospels that each recount the life and teachings of Jesus, and they often overlap, to make it easy we will be reading “A Simplified Harmony of the Gospels” by George Knight. Dr Knight has taken all four gospels and woven them into a single running narrative using the Holman Christian Standard Bible translation. He doesn’t leave anything out. He will use one of the authors as the primary narrative and then will add any details that are unique to any one of the writers, noting that that segment was added by Luke or whichever author it was. It’s a great way to read the Gospels and avoids all the repetition and having to turn from Matthew to John to Mark to Luke as you read Jesus’ story.
